Fleece-Lined & Thermal Tights, in plain words
The warmest bench in the range is also the one with a trick in it. A fake translucent pair is a thick fleece lining knitted with a skin-tone layer that, from a metre away, reads as a 20 denier sheer. On a cold morning that is the difference between a skirt and no skirt. The plain fleece-lined black pairs and the footed leggings do the same job without the illusion.
Fleece is warm because it holds air, and that is also its limit: on a heated train these pairs are too much, and a 400 denier pair under narrow boots takes some persuading. The MANZI way is to say so. Nobody should buy a January pair for October.
Fit on this bench
Fleece-lined pairs run smaller than their label suggests because the lining does not stretch as far as the shell. At the top of a size range, go up one. The leg of a fleece pair that is too short pulls at the toe all day.
